ChemFORWARD invited to become a member of the Clean Electronics Production Network (CEPN)
ChemFORWARD has been invited to become a member of the Clean Electronics Production Network (CEPN) - a multi-stakeholder Innovation Network that is working collectively to address complex workplace health and safety challenges in the global electronics supply chain. The two organizations share a commitment to move toward zero exposure of workers to toxic chemicals in electronics manufacturing. ChemFORWARD co-founders Stacy Glass and Lauren Heine, Ph.D. will bring their expertise in safer chemistry and creating tools and resources to enable industry transformation to the collaborative effort.
CEPN is a program of Green America’s Center for Sustainability Solutions created to foster collaborative innovation, uniting diverse stakeholders including technology suppliers, brands, labor and environmental advocates, governments, and other leading experts to work together to understand, address, and eliminate workers’ exposure to toxic chemicals in electronics production.
CEPN members develop solutions to protect the health and safety of front-line workers, prioritizing elimination and substitution of toxic chemicals with safer alternatives, and support the protection of workers through effective controls until that is achieved.
ChemFORWARD brings a growing repository of chemical hazard assessments and safer alternatives specifically targeted at high exposure chemicals such as cleaners and degreasers. With a mission to identify, assess, and amplify safer chemistry, ChemFORWARD is well suited to contribute to CEPNs broader mission by serving on the Safer Substitutions working group.
