Heather McKenney Joins ChemFORWARD as Safer Chemistry Lead

ChemFORWARD is proud to announce that Heather McKenney, MPH, BS has joined ChemFORWARD as the Safer Chemistry Lead.

In this new position, McKenney will manage the ongoing development and quality implementation of the ChemFORWARD chemical hazard assessment process and will serve as a resource for industry partners to design and deliver projects that accelerate safer chemistry adoption.

For the past six years, McKenney led toxicology and product safety at The Honest Company, a leader in sustainable and safer consumer goods. In this role, she focused on potential human health hazards of ingredients, exposure, and risk, and gained extensive knowledge in the personal care, cosmetics, diapers, cleaning, and supplements categories.

“Heather’s experience with formulation, suppliers, retailers, and third-party certifications in the setting of a fast-growing public company offers a valuable perspective and an advantage in understanding the challenges and opportunities that companies face across the supply and value chains,” said Stacy Glass, Executive Director of ChemFORWARD, “She joins us at a moment of growth to boost our internal capabilities and accelerate our partners transition to safer chemistry.”

McKenney will lead a growing team that will help ChemFORWARD realize its mission of creating broad access to chemical hazard data, illuminating safer alternatives, and ending toxic chemical exposure.
